Hepatitis A Notice

Hepatitis A is a highly-contagious liver infection which is currently being seen in large numbers throughout the state of Florida. The virus is easily spread by consuming contaminated food or drink, or through close personal contact, such as having sex or caring for someone who is ill. Early stages of the infection may have no symptoms.  If the symptoms do develop they may appear two to six weeks after exposure, and can last up to two to six months.

 

The Florida Department of Health in Manatee is offering education and vaccinations to help combat the spread of this illness. Below, please see several resources you can refer to regarding Hepatitis A.
