The Florida Department of Health in Manatee County (DOH-Manatee) is informing residents of three confirmed human cases of locally-acquired dengue. DOH-Manatee and Manatee County Mosquito Control are coordinating surveillance and prevention efforts by aerial spraying and by encouraging residents to drain standing water where mosquitoes can reproduce in and around their homes and businesses. DOH-Manatee reminds the community to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes by taking these basic precautions.
