Men's Health

Florida Department of Health in Manatee County

Men die at an earlier age than women. Men are less likely to get routine medical care or screenings than women. It’s important that men take care of themselves so that they can be there for their families and others.

DOH-Manatee offers a variety of services to men, both medical and non-medical.

Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) screenings

We offer education, screening and treatment to reduce both the number of new cases and the impact of STDs.

Family Planning and Vasectomies

We offer family planning services for men, including condom distribution and no-scalpel vasectomies. Vasectomies are available on a sliding fee scale to any men who already have the size of family they want. Vasectomies are performed by a board-certified urologist.  Those interested may attend an information session to help make the decision that is right for them.
