All tattooing facilities (conventional and cosmetic) are required to be licensed and inspected annually. Environmental Health ensures that these facilities meet sanitation and safety requirements. The division also investigates complaints of injury, infection, and the tattooing of minors.
Tattoo Artists
In addition, all tattoo artists (including guest artists from out of state) are required to be licensed. Environmental Health reviews tattoo artist applications for proper training and valid identification.
